Mr. Memon is a development professional, who has been working with prominent development sector and corporate sector organizations of Pakistan since the past 15 years. Over past ten years he has been working on management positions in reputed corporate and social sector organizations including SPO, LEAD Pakistan, Premier Oil and WWF Pakistan. He is currently Chief Executive of Strengthening Participatory Organization (SPO), one of the largest rights-based national NGO of Pakistan with offices in all provinces and AJK. Prior to that, he was associated with an international organization “Leadership for Environment and Development” LEAD-Pakistan as Provincial Coordinator for Sindh. Before joining LEAD Pakistan, Mr. Memon was associated with World Wide Fund (WWF) Pakistan as Manager for Sindh Program. During his association with WWF he managed projects of European Commission, Shell Pakistan and other donors. Mr. Memon has also been teaching the subject of Water Resource Management in Mehran University of Engineering and Tech for five years i.e. from 1996 to 2001. He has extensively written in English and local newspapers on issues related to Social Sector Development of Pakistan.

Mr. Memon worked with a leading corporate organization, Premier Oil in Environment and Community Development Department for two years. He managed over a dozen community projects in Sindh and Balochistan provinces. The projects were implemented by local NGOs. Mr. Memon was responsible for designing and monitoring of the projects and stakeholder relationship building. These projects were mainly in education, health and drinking water sectors. Apart from this responsibility he was also responsible to coordinate with consultants to conduct Environmental Impact Assessments in Sindh. He also coordinated with Environmental Protection Agency to organize public hearings of the EIAs. He was involved in around a dozen of EIAs.

Mr. Memon regularly writes in leading Pakistani newspapers and magazines on the issues pertaining to human development, governance and natural disasters. He has authored three books on natural disasters in Pakistan and two books on governance issues of Pakistan. He has also been lecturing in universities of Pakistan and regional and international forums as a visiting faculty and guest speaker.
