Profile Details

Ms. Khan is an award winning environment journalist and communications consultant based in Islamabad. She writes extensively about climate change and won the Earth Journalism Award in Copenhagen in 2009 for her report on climate change impacts on Pakistan's coastal areas. She is currently working as a consultant for WWF-Pakistan, UNDP-Pakistan and LEAD-Pakistan. She is also writing a bi monthly column on the environment for DAWN, Pakistan's largest English daily, as well as contributing features to Reuters Alert Net.

Previously she was featured editor at the Friday Times at which time she published her first book, entitled 'Profiles' (Vanguard Publications, 1997). She was also part of the team that has researched and written the book entitled 'Green Pioneers' (Citi Press 2003) for UNDP-Pakistan. She has recently co-authored a book on Pakistan's water bodies entitled 'Water in the Wilderness' which is being published by Oxford University Press in 2015 and is currently working on her book, "From Mangroves to Mountains" which is a compilation of her travels throughout Pakistan to visit various environment and development projects.
