Ali Ahmad Jan holds masters degree in Economics with additional post graduation in Mass Communications, and Graduation in Law.  Mr. Jan is Fellow of LEAD, Kinship Conservation Institute (KCI) Chicago USA, Property & Environment Research Centre (PERC) Bozeman Montana USA and Mahanirban Research Group Kolkata West Bengal India. He is a certified practitioner of AT Kissan Accelerator Tools in Pakistan.

Mr. Jan is Founder and Director of the Sustainable Solutions (Private) Limited (SSPL) based in Islamabad, Pakistan. As Director of the company Mr. Jan leads a team of consultants and experts in delivery of promised services. Mr. Jan has been working in various capacities and fields including programme development, management, monitoring and evaluation as well as capacity building in environment and development sector since 1993.  He has also contributed in  LEAD Pakistan as Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist and was part of the team which implemented the Democratized Education Management & Ownership (DEMO) project funded by United States Agency for International Development (USAID) under its Education Sector Reforms Assistance (ESRA)Program . His association with World Wide Fund For Nature – Pakistan (WWF – P) as Project Development Officer and then Project Manager of the Northern Areas Conservation Project earned experience in Integrated Conservation and Development (ICD) approaches and participatory conservation. Before working with National and International Non - Governmental Organizations (N/INGOs) Mr. Jan served in prestigious civil services of Government of Pakistan for 7 years.

Mr. Jan has developed project proposals, project strategies, concept papers and evaluation reports. He has participated and contributed in national and international conferences and workshops on various themes including Social resettlement, community development, environmental conservation, global warming, climate change, conflict and peace etc. His hobbies include trekking & hiking, photography and social networking.
