Mr. Munir Ahmed, with a post-graduate in the Mass Communication, is the Executive Director and the founding chairman of the Devcom-Pakistan (Development Communications Network), the premier communication sector NGO in Pakistan. He has over 20 years of experience in advocacy, development communications, media management, advertising, journalism and broadcasting. As a Communication Consultant, he has served projects and assignments with ADB, European Commission, ILO, UNDP, IOM, LEAD Pakistan, EvK2CNR, SEED Project, USAID, CNFA, Chemonics etc.

Mr. Ahmed has been World Environment Day telethon consultant for the largest terrestrial television network in Pakistan- PTV Home for 2007-11. He kicked off mainstreaming of climate change in Pakistan with a grand consultation on May 22, 2007 at the LEAD House with Malik Ameen Aslam, the State Minister for Environment, in the chair. He has founded five thematic advocacy and outreach festivals including National Women at Work Festival, Pakistan Green Initiatives, Culture for Democracy Festival, Karakoram Festival and Pakistan Mountain Festival.  

Mr. Ahmed has written extensively on environment and development for mainstream publications such as The News, The Muslim and Pakistan Observer. As a broadcaster, he conducted live programs and interviews for different channels of the Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation (PBC) and Pakistan Television (PTV), BBC, VoA, SABC, Lotus FM, FM Power 99, NBS-PBC. He also reported the Ojri Camp disaster on radio and won the Award for excellent work in 1988,  OSA Award for culture 1992, NDMA Humanitarian Reporting Award (English-Print) 2011, Lok Virsa Award 2011 (English-Print).

Munir is the author of four books Land of the Rising Sun (a travelogue of Japan), 25 Years of PTV (the first-ever book on PTV history), a book about the human body, and a book of short stories Intezar Ka Akhri Peher. His collection of poems is under-print.
