Profile Details

Mr. Buzdar is currently working as Director Conservation with Snow Leopard Foundation to promote innovative and adaptive community based conservation practices by applying new partnerships, conservation tools, information, and improving sustainable livelihoods of local community to mitigate and prevent threats to biological diversity.
Prior to this, he worked with Barrick Gold Corporation in Saudi Arabia and Tethyan Copper Company in Pakistan as Manager Community Relations and Corporate Social Responsibility. In that role, he was responsible to accomplish the corporate commitments through providing lasting benefits to local communities by supporting sustainable initiatives that develop social, economic and institutional resources in the region.
Mr. Buzdar also worked with Oxfam GB, ADB, World Bank, IFAD, JICA and GTZ in the social development sector and was progressively involved in responsible senior management positions in planning designing, developing and implementing of high quality, multi-sector social investment programs including health, water supply, education and income generation projects in all over the country. He also worked with the European Commission’s Program Coordination Office for Rural Social Development Program (RSDP) as the Deputy Country Representative in Islamabad for more than six years. His major responsibility included fund management, donors’ coordination and capacity building of the national NGOs of Pakistan involved in the socio-economic development of the rural and semi-urban communities.
He is interested in biodiversity conservation, human-wildlife co-existence, policy advocacy, climate change, community development, corporate social responsibility, disaster risk reduction, sustainable livelihoods, social impact assessment and resettlement planning.
He holds a Masters Degree in Botany from the University of Baluchistan and another Masters degree in Human Settlements Development with a specialization in rural and regional development planning from the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Bangkok, Thailand.
