Profile Details

Dr Rajapakse Ratnayake Mudiyanselage Channa Nalin Bandara Bambaradeniya is the Head of Ecosystems Management Program at IUCN Sri Lanka country office. His responsibilities include planning and implementing projects related to ecosystem management, and facilitating relevant government agencies in formulating and implementing plans pertaining to environmental conservation.

He is also a visiting lecturer at the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka and the Wildlife Training Institute, where he teaches wetland ecology, biodiversity assessment techniques, and management of threatened species to undergraduate and postgraduate students. Before this, Dr Bambaradeniya worked as a Demonstrator in the Department of Peradeniya. As a result, the National Science Foundation of Sri Lanka awarded him a research grant for his postgraduate research work. He has over eight years of experience in environment and biodiversity conservation and has over fifty research publications to his credit. Dr Bambaradeniya has a PhD degree in Rice Field Ecology and Biodiversity from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka.
