Currently pursuing a PhD in Environmental Sciences; Ms. Amir completed course work and looks forward to doing research work in Climate Change and Water Scarcity Issues. She has nearly 12 years of professional experience working in different national and international organizations like NARC, AIOU, IIUI, IUCN-Pakistan, ICARDA-Pakistan, and CABI-South Asia. Apart from regular jobs she has also worked as a Consultant in Rao Consulting Firms and DAS Pakistan. Due to this diverse experience, her teaching skills have improved a lot with her association with academia since the last five years. She started her professional career soon after completion of her Masters in Environmental Science in 2002. Since then she remained involved in various research activities in the environmental domain. Ms. Amir has also conducted several trainings as a Resource Person/Trainer in government organizations including NCRD Islamabad, Ministry of Manpower and Labour Institute etc. She has attended and participated in several training workshops, seminars and conferences. Further, she has also contributed in national food policy and national food safety planning and the third national report on Convention on Biological Diversity.

Ms. Amir’s long term research interests involve the development of a comprehensive understanding of key developmental pathways and how alterations in natural systems contribute to human health impacts and environmental degradation. Her academic training and research experience have provided her with an excellent background in multiple environmental science disciplines including bioenergy, policy analysis and watershed management.
