Ms. Muhammad works as Deputy Director for ministry of climate change. Previously she was working as a lecturer at the Pakistan Forest Institute (PFI), Peshawar, where she was the first woman professional in forestry to be admitted. Her responsibilities at PFI include teaching graduate and postgraduate students from all over Pakistan and abroad. She started her career with Winrock International TAT working on a USAID Forestry Project. She has also worked as a key resource person and training specialist for a large number of projects and women's NGOs. Beside her academic duties, Ms Muhammad has also worked as Assistant Country Coordinator and gender specialist for the People and Resource Dynamic Project (PARDYP) of the ICIMOD, Kathmandu, Nepal. She is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Human Resource Management and Development Centre and of the Executive Committee of United Rural Development Organization, a group of NGOs working in North West Frontier Province. She has presented a number of papers and reports on women in forestry, biomass energy, and participatory approaches in social forestry. She holds a postgraduate degree in Forestry from the Pakistan Forestry Institute and a graduate diploma in Forestry for Rural Development from the Institute for Aerospace Survey and Earth Sciences, The Netherlands.Presently she is pursuing her PhD studies in Forest Management at University PUTRA Malaysia.
