Suhail Ahmed Abro has been working with the Human Rights Education Forum ever since its inception in 2002. Initially he started his career with the HREF as a Research Officer where he was entrusted with the responsibilities of carrying out a study in Gender issues focusing on the Honor Killings. Besides that, he assisted the organization in all its activities including documentation of cases of Honor killings, arrangement of seminars, preparation of monthly financial and narrative reports, undertaking any special assignments. In 2004, his organization established working relations with the Asian Human Rights Commission Hong Kong, and started Urgent Appeal in collaboration with AHRC for the victims of Honor Killings; and he was made the coordinator of the program, where he had to issue UAs to the authorities, which is still going on. In 2005, HREF widened its circle of activities and started to work with the British Council, UNDP, SPARC, and FORUM-ASIA on different issues. Hence, he was made the Program Manager, in which capacity he is still working. In this capacity he has participated in a number of workshops, carried out by HREF, as one of the resource persons. He developed a training kit on “Right-based Approach to the Development”.
