Profile Details

Ms Khattak currently works with the Accreditation Department of Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology, Dubai. Her job is to develop their systems to meet international requirements of ILAC and IAF. She is also responsible for launching new schemes of accreditation.

She holds two Master degrees: Master of Environmental Management from University of Tasmania, Hobart, Australia, and Master of Science in Chemistry from University of Peshawar, Pakistan. She was awarded AUSAID and AIDAB scholarships.

She has over 18 years of professional experience of working at the national and international level. During her job with the Pakistan National Accreditation Council as Director Industrial Labs her job iwa to accredit industrial labs according to ISO 17025. She is Lead Assessor for ISO 17025, ISO 17021, ISO 17020 and ISO 15189. She received her basic training in the field of accreditation from the Norwegian Accreditation, SWEDAC (Swedish Accreditation Board) and Chinese National Accreditation Body for Labs (CNAL). She is a trainer for developing international accreditation systems and processes, measurement uncertainity, method validation and proficiency testing etc.. She is also a Lead auditor ISO 9001 (Pakistan), 14001 (Australia & Pakistan) and 18001 (Indonesia).

In United Nations Development Programme, Islamabad her job focussed on Pakistan's preparation in the run-up to the World Summit on Sustainable Development. She has worked with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in London on issues of sustainable development. In Pakisan she has worked Environmental Protection Agency where she was resposible for screeing public and private sector projects for EIAs. She has also worked with United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) as a Provisional Coordinator in Pakistan.

She has represented Pakistan in various conferences and workshops and has represented papers on various topics in different parts of the world. Ms Khattak has well-developed computer skills and is proficent in English, Urdu and Pushto.
