Profile Details

Mrs. Halima Saeed received dual Masters degrees in International Relations and Political Science from the University of Peshawar, Pakistan. She is currently working as a Training & Women in Development Coordinator with the Asian Development Bank-funded Barani Area Development Project (BADP), Peshawar. As a project-based employee of Environment Development Consultants (Pvt.) Ltd., she works for the BADP and coordinates two departments of Training and Women's Development, which includes coordination between the Barani Development Office and the implementing line agencies of BADP. Ms. Halima is also responsible for monitoring, reviewing and planning development activities in various sectors of agriculture extension, livestock extension, horticulture extension, forestry and range, rural infrastructure and village level development. She is an active member of the Swat Environmental Protection Society and has arranged a number of seminars and walks for environmental awareness. She is also working for the Society of Human Rights and Child Labour, and has organized workshops in collaboration with the International Labour Organization. Her future goal is to form an integrated rural development NGO for Swat, which is her native region. Through this NGO she would like to work with local institutions and government departments to give input for accelerating the process of sustainable development.
