These days Ms. Zahur is working as a freelance teacher educator/ educationist after serving as a regular employee of two well reputed institutions; Beaconhouse National University and Ali Institute of Education for several years. Almost 19 years of experience enabled her to dirt hands in teacher education, and educational management by working extensively almost all over Pakistan with pre – and in-service teacher education, educational management and professional development programs at various levels.


She has recently concluded her work as an Education Consultant in Cambridge Education in PESP-II in Punjab. Previously, she had also served as consultant in various capacities, i.e., Human Resource Specialist, National Training and Resource Gap Analyst, National Evaluation Consultant, National Training and Teacher Education Specialist in, GIZ- LEAD, CPBEP- CIDA, UNESCO and British Council in past 10 years. She established the School of Education at Beaconhouse National University (BNU) and has been a member of core team designing programs to be offered by the University. She served as an Associate Professor and Acting Dean in School of Education (SE), BNU, Lahore, Pakistan. She Chaired the Department of Science Education, Ali Institute of Education (AIE), Lahore, Pakistan. She introduced integrated and interdisciplinary approach to teach science/ environmental/ health hygiene education and other disciplines to pre- as well as in-service teachers, and master teachers besides working with school children.


Ms. Tariq is also involved in research activities at national and international level. She has worked with the Stockholm Institute of Education, Sweden and Mathematics, Science and Technology Dept. of Columbia University and University of Texas, US. She developed curriculum of Civic Education for Non- formal Settings of Pakistan under a project funded by Small Democracy Grants - United States Information Services (SDG-USIS). She is also actively involved in conducting courses, seminars and modules in science education, environmental education, integrated and interdisciplinary approach to teaching, conflict management and resolution, curriculum studies and child and cognitive development for teachers and teacher educators all over Pakistan. She has three international publications and one book chapter as (co-author) to her credit. She has also co-authored 20 research papers about biological control of root borne diseases of plants of economic importance, medicinal plants, mycotrophy in medicinal plants and grasses, Endogonaceous Spore Flora of Pakistan, and Taxonomy of grasses of Pakistan.

Ms. Tariq is alum of Columbia University, NYC, NY, USA and Punjab University, Lahore, Pakistan. She is looking forward to her PhD from Birmingham University, Birmingham, UK.
