Mr. Shaikh is currently working as Director Operations for Agricultural Services in SGS Pakistan – a Swiss multinational service organization operating in over 140 countries of the world including Pakistan. His main task is to verify the quality, quantity and other trading requirements of agri-commodities coming in or going out of Pakistan. Besides managing Agri-laboratory services he is also involved in studying the impact of climate change on agriculture. 


He is an experienced management system auditor and trainer having an experience of around 15 years. He is qualified for leading audits for ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004, ISO 22000:2005, HACCP and BRC.  He has conducted over 500 audits for QMS, EMS and FSMS in Pakistan and in the region. He is also an approved lead tutor for IRCA registered lead auditor courses for these three management systems. He has successfully conducted training courses ranging from one day awareness sessions to five day lead auditor course for QMS, EMS and FSMS. He has conducted these courses for variety of industrial and business operations in Pakistan, India, Far East Asia and Africa. Mazhar is also qualified for Global GAP (Fruits & Vegetables) Train the Trainer program.


Mazhar has also been responsible for managing project for HACCP training & Implementation in Fisheries sector in Pakistan from 1997 – 2000.  Due to a regulation issued by United States Food & Drug Administration in year 1997 it had become mandatory for all the fisheries exporters to USA from all over the world to implement HACCP in their processing plant. To fulfill awareness raising need and HACCP implementation support SGS established a joint venture with National Fisheries Institute (NFI) USA to train fisheries sector in the world. As National Project Manager for NFI/SGS project worked extensively with Fisheries sector in Pakistan for successful implementation of HACCP in processing plants.  For this project he obtained high profile theoretical and in-plant training in India and Philippines for conducting HACCP training and verifying HACCP implementation in processing plants.  Mazhar holds Master degree in Chemistry with Microbiology and another Masters in Environmental Sciences.
