Profile Details

Mr. Qureshi is directly responsible for management & operation of a development organization known as Eco-Conservation Initiatives (ECI) with focus on integrated agriculture, food security, bio-fuels promotion through exploitation of the marginalized land, human resource development, ecological conservation, environmental management, climate change adaptations and changing livelihood patterns.

Currently, he is supervising agricultural development projects in sugarcane, cotton, date-palms, paddy, fruit and vegetables focusing on reduction and elimination of Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) as well as model network of livestock farmers for poverty reduction. He is deeply involved in research, development and public policy for integrated production and ecological conservation based on Training of Trainers (TOT) and Farmer Field Schools (FFS) with the involvement of about 200,000 farmers at the grassroots level throughout Pakistan. At present, he is running collaborative field based capacity building projects in partnership with several INGOs and various Sugar Mills in Pakistan by managing multi-stakeholders partnership involving NGOs, government and the corporate sector. Because of his continued success in sustainable integrated production approach by manipulating cropping system patterns, The Pakistan Society of Sugar Technologists (PSST) awarded him a Gold Medal and the honorary shield in recognition for his role in the industry.


Mr. Qureshi is also one of the highly active Fellows of Leadership for Environment and Development (LEAD), a global leadership program initially supported by the Rockefeller Foundation. He is playing an active role in Pakistan NGOs Forum (PNF) and UN sponsored Netaid Global Program with focus on sustainable development, education and poverty alleviation. Currently, Mr. Qureshi is also serving as Chairman Soon Valley Development Programme, Executive Board Member of Pakistan German Friendship Association (PGFA), member Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA), board member of CHAMBELI, an Institute of handicapped children and Kuchlak Welfare Society (KWS), Balochistan.  Mr. Qureshi has published about twenty research papers, several survey & research studies and edited the Proceedings of an international workshop sponsored by the Islamic Development Bank (IDB).
